Hello, I'm Shinae. I have been raising Great Danes since 2015 and I have been working with dogs for almost 25 years. I started as a kennel hand at 11 years old for a GSP breeder in Washington State. I have helped in shelters and attended school for Animal Science and Biology. I spent almost 10 years in the Marine Corps until I was medically discharged due to a bad accident. I continued to help in the shelters throughout my time in the Corps. Great Danes are a breed I fell in love with working in Rescue. I currently train dogs full-time. All our babies are raised in my home. I set up bunk with them and their mommas for the 1st - 3 weeks of life. We start litter box training them as soon as their eyes are open and around 4-5 weeks of age depending on the weather we start to transition to potty in the yard. All of our puppies are maintained here in our home till 12 weeks of age. We follow the puppy culture protocol and do extensive socialization with each of our puppies. Puppies start to kennel train around 8 weeks of age. We utilize Wendy Volhard Puppy Aptitude testing as well as a more extensive temperament test in the deciding of where each of our puppies will be placed. We do not chose placement for our puppies till 7 weeks of age. This allows us to evaluate temperament and structure. Great danes are a very large and active breed. We encourage everyone of our families to keep their pups active and we require that puppies and their human attend training. We also love to see our dogs in the community being fabulous citizens and representations of the breed whether it is through certified Therapy work, conformation, performance or companions events. We even love seeing them as just part of an active family that gets them out and about and offers them the greatest life where they are loved and cared for. We do require our puppies live inside the home throughout their lives. We prefer families have a secure fence but will consider families in other situations case by case individually. Puppies are a lifetime commitment and we take that very seriously. Our doors are always open to help our puppies throughout their lives if they ever find themselves without a stable place to live. There is far more to address in a simple bio so please fill out an application and we can discuss any questions you may have.
