Meet The Breeder

I’m Mikayla, the breeder behind Fianna Collies, a small preservation-focused Collie program in North Carolina. My goal is to produce beautiful, healthy, sound, and versatile Collies that represent the breed both in the show ring and in everyday life. I fell in love with Collies long before I owned one, and welcomed my first Collie, Fionn, in 2020. What began with performance sports—including obedience, FastCAT, Barn Hunt, agility, and herding—grew into a deeper appreciation for the complete Collie and ultimately led me into conformation and preservation breeding. At Fianna, I believe responsible breeding begins with carefully chosen pedigrees and health-tested parents, but it doesn't end there. I prioritize breed type, sound structure, excellent temperament, health, trainability, and versatility, with each breeding planned to contribute thoughtfully to the future of the breed. Puppies are raised in our home with an intentional developmental program emphasizing early neurological development, socialization, enrichment, nutrition, confidence-building, and exposure to the world around them. My goal is not simply to raise puppies, but to give each one the strongest possible foundation for a lifetime as a companion, performance partner, or show prospect. Fianna Collies is built around the belief that a truly exceptional Collie should be beautiful enough for the show ring, capable enough for performance, and stable and loving enough to be a treasured family member. I am proud to be a member of the Collie Club of America (CCA) and the Collie Health Foundation (CHF) and to support the continued health, preservation, and advancement of this remarkable breed. When you choose a Fianna puppy, you aren't simply bringing home a dog. You're becoming part of a carefully planned legacy—and I remain committed to supporting my puppies and their families throughout their lives.
