Scout's Legacy Golden Retrievers started as a dream many years before it became a reality. We wanted quality dogs, raised by us to hopefully become Service Dogs for those who need it. We know only a few in a litter make it to the final stage of actually making it into training, but that just means the whole litter gets the same treatment as a Service Dog puppy until they head to their new homes. We socialize with different animals, we crate train, we potty train, we do outings, and we hold onto the puppies until they are 10 weeks old to ensure they are past their first fear stage before heading home. Temperament testing and placing puppies into assigned homes does not start until 7 weeks of age, after much consideration. We want to ensure puppies are placed where they will thrive and you as the new home have a pet who will be the right match. We love what we do and raising quality puppies starts with our girls. They are not kept in a kennel situation, they are our family. We do as much as we can with them to make sure they are mentally happy as well as physically fit. We only breed passing health testing and test for everything the GRCA Code of Ethics requires.
