Meet The Breeder

I'm Danny, the dog nerd behind Danube Kooikerhondjes in Seattle, WA. My goal is to preserve the Kooikerhondje breed and raise well-rounded and healthy companion and performance dogs that are also competitive in the show ring. My vision is to produce versatile family dogs who are both functional and beautiful with the temperament to match. All puppies are raised inside our home using Puppy Culture and Avidog methods. Each will be matched to their perfect homes based on temperament and structure. Breeding and raising Kooikers combines my three favorite things: Dogs, history, and art. Each dog is a work of art that carries the legacy of all the historical people, events, and decisions that led to its current existence. I feel incredibly fortunate to be trusted to contribute to this breed's future. Our ideal Kooiker is: -Healthy and sound, with no illnesses, allergies, or orthopedic issues -Immediately identifiable as a Kooikerhondje with correct head, expression, and structure -Versatile and happy to do anything and everything with its family -A mid-energy dog that has a good off-switch inside the house -Long-lived and thriving as a beloved companion I am a founding member of the Nederlandse Kooikerhondje Clubs of California and on the Breeder's Committee.

Pricing Information

The total price listed includes a breeder deposit if applicable. DOGGIT will introduce the puppy buyer and the breeder to get to know each other. Growing a strong bond with a new puppy starts with a close relationship with the chosen breeder! The deposit is collected by the breeder directly once the breeder approves the puppy buyer. This means a puppy or future puppy from the breeder is reserved! Deposits are refundable if the breeder does not have a puppy for the puppy buyer, or has unreserved a puppy. The DOGG!T Matchmaker Service fees are also collected once a puppy is reserved. Matchmaker Service fees are transferable if the puppy buyer decides to go with another breeder. * We are committed to finding a puppy buyer the perfect breeder and puppy match. Once the puppy buyer and breeder confirm 'Gotcha Day' hand off, the remaining balance will be paid to the breeder directly or through DOGG!T payment services.
