Meet The Breeder

To say that the Australian Shepherd has always been an integrated part of our lives might be an understatement. I genuinely cannot recall a time when our family did not have an Aussie. My parents love for the breed, which led to mine, began with my father managing ranches in East Texas and using Australian Shepherds in every day ranch work. Growing up with this remarkable breed and being part of an avid horse show family lead to me eventually wanting to try my hand at showing dogs. Well, the rest is history, I was hooked. I really didn’t know that hanging up a bridal for a show lead would take my family on the journey that it has, but we wouldn’t want it any other way! I got my first junior showmanship dog of my own from Donna Bates at Slydrock Aussies, and I could not have asked for a better first dog. Kola taught me so much, we grew together, had many wonderful achievements, and fantastic memories over the years. It was the conversations had during the thousands of miles my mother and I drove to shows, family discussions at home, and interactions with other ethical breeders that inspired us to strive for the responsible preservation of the versatile Australian Shepherd. We take the responsibility of being ethical breeders very seriously. At Emerald Isle we truly believe that the Aussie should not just be beautiful, but also versatile, and we place the upmost importance on breeding dogs that are sound of mind and body. In every breeding decision we make, and every addition to our program, we are striving to produce purpose bred dogs that can excel in all competitive venues or the all important job of “most excellent family companion“! Every puppy we bring into the world is a lifetime commitment, not just to the homes we place them in, but also to us as their breeders. An enormous amount of research and time is put into every litter we breed. From pedigree research, to comprehensive health testing, to cooperation with other ethical breeders, we make informed decisions to produce correct dogs with stable temperaments. Another responsibility we take extremely seriously is placing puppies in homes that will regard them as members of their family and ensure the health and well-being of that dog for the entirety of its life. - Adrianne Tullier
