We live in Lenoir City, TN., about 25 miles west of Knoxville in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. Walter has been involved in dogs since 1972 and has been an AKC conformation judge since 1985. Carol has had dogs all her life but became involved in the sport of purebred dogs in 1976 and has been an AKC conformation judge since 1997. Together we have judged dogs all over the United States and numerous foreign countries. Walter's original breed was Old English Sheepdogs but Carol's original breed was Vizslas. Together they have owned dogs in all 7 AKC groups. Today they share their home with 9 Vizslas ranging in age from 2 years to 14+ years. As members of the Vizsla Club of America since 1976, we adhere to their code of ethics when breeding our Vizslas. This means that all dogs that are bred are health tested and are found to be OFA clear of all required tests to obtain a CHIC number, are DNA tested to determine they purebred Vizslas and are over 2 years of age. We breed for a puppy with an easy to train and live with temperament that is structurally correct and can still do what the breed was originally bred to do, hunt. All our puppies are raised in the home (born in our kitchen area) where they receive much socialization from birth until they go to their new homes no sooner than 8 weeks of age. We raise our puppies by the Puppy culture Methods. We test the puppies on birds between 5-7 weeks of age so we can determine which puppies have the best aptitude for hunting if the new owner so desires. We temperament test at 7 weeks of age so we can determine the best puppy to place in the correct forever home. We are here throughout the life of the dog to provide guidance and support. We vaccinate and worm puppies before they go to their new home. We dog guarantee the health of our puppies barring any neglect or abuse by the new owner. We welcome people to visit and meet our Vizslas.
