Meet The Breeder
Many years ago, we made a promise when a chance meeting with a Spinone turned into a quest and an absolute love affair with a breed. If we were ever graced to bring such a magnificent breed into our lives, we vowed to protect and preserve the ancient breed standards that made this beautiful hunting companion so unique. Guided by mentors who genuinely believe in protecting a breed, we have built a small, although passionate, kennel keen on breeding fully health-tested, exemplary examples of the Spinone breed standard. Our origins, however, are with the purposefully bred, working Labrador Retriever. This fantastic dog has been through many changes throughout the years. However, the gentleman's hunter, the Labrador, is revered by all retrievers. The faithful Labrador is a partner to his master. He is silent yet diligent in his marked retrieves. He will bear cold weather, water, and terrain to retrieve his quarry and make his master proud. His reward is the admiration of his master and a warm foot with fire to lay by at the end of the evening. This is the faithful Labrador Retriever. We proudly present all of our dogs, Spinoni and Labrador Retrievers, as they were originally intended to be, sporting dogs for the bird dog hunters! This is their first and foremost purpose. Being sound and built for their purpose. Beauty in the conformation rings is secondary. These dogs have a purpose, form, and function. We tirelessly work to preserve both breeds and hope to continue to mentor the generations that follow to keep to the standard, to work hard, and to realize that these are living and loving particles of history. My mentor is quoted as saying, "Purebred dogs are history and art. They are beauty and brains. They are living, breathing conduits to our past and to our future. They are our heart and our soul…and they are so much more."
